About Dawah

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmat Allah.
May Allah reward each of you for your intention to work to spread the true knowledge of Allah’s true message.  May Allah T’aala grant us greater success than we imagined or hoped, aameen.
With the invention of e-mail, much of our mutual consultation about what we want to do can be done by writing to each other instead of actually meeting.  To begin, however, we would like to meet with whoever can come to ICM this Sunday (May 13 ) right after Salaat-Ath-Thuhur in the metal building in the back.  Let us begin at 2:00, in shaa Allah, and go for just a short time in order to meet each other.  If you can attend, please do try.

Each of the various programs of the da’wah committee can each be headed by one member who takes care of only that one program.  For example: one volunteer member can be in charge of receiving e-mailed ideas and suggestions and information from all of us, and then e-mailing it to everyone else.  In other words, someone who uses the internet a lot can be the ‘Communications Coordinator’ so that every member is in contact with the da’wah committee all the time.  That is much better than having to meet all the time.

Also, for example:  if we have a program like a brothers visiting committee, for example, there can be one volunteer who receives word from ICM about whoever may need to be visited ( for  an illness or death or whatever  ) and then pass it on by e-mail to the rest of us – either through the person in charge of e-mails, or directly from him or herself.  That person would be the ‘Visiting Coordinator’.

If there is a program for contacts with inmates in prison, one of us may volunteer to be in charge of that department.  That person, the ‘Prison Outreach Coordinator’ can send out names and addresses of inmates in order for people to write to them, or they can arrange times for visiting inmates ( there are approval forms which need to be filled for regular visitors ).  Also, they may be able to schedule brothers to go for  a Friday khutbah at a local prison and may be in charge of purchasing and mailing books and Islamic materials to prisoners.

SO…

What ideas do you have for the da’wah committee ?
What would you like to see done ?
What would you like to volunteer to do ?
In other words:  WHAT DO YOU THINK THE DA’WAH COMMITTEE SHOULD DO FOR DA’WAH ?

Any ideas you have are worth writing or telling the rest of us – even if you think they are not good ideas.  In fact, what we need in order to begin the da’wah committee is IDEAS.
Please write back to us with ideas and I will send ideas and comments to each of you so that when we meet this Sunday we will have, already, a lot to talk about.  Anyone who can not attend this Sunday, I will be sure to send an e-mail to fill them in on what was talked about, in shaa Allah.
The Da’wah Committee is a committee to develop IDEAS and PLANS and a committee to then ACT on those PLANS.  May Allah grant us success, accept it from us, and count every effort we make as heavy good deeds in our scale of good deeds on The Day of Judgment, AAMEEN.
Wa Salaam Allahi Alaykum,

 Committee Chairperson
